Program for July 7, 2013
On July 7, 2013, the Hayward Municipal Band will present a concert of patriotic music in honor of Independence Day. Selections may include: America The Beautiful, Second American Folk Rhapsody, American Patrol, An American Salute, Armed Forces Salute, Battle Hymn of the Republic, God Bless America, March from 1941, National Emblem, and American Civil War Rhapsody. The final program will be available at the concert.

Honoring Frank Reis
Frank Reis, clarinetist with the Hayward Municipal Band, was honored at last Sunday's concert. Reis is retiring from the band after 57 years in the clarinet section. (In fact, he has spent every Father's Day for more than half a century on the bandstand in Memorial Park.) Reis, whose two sons also play clarinet in the band, was given a certificate by Hayward Mayor Michael Sweeney and a plaque from director Kathy Maier and the band. He also led the band in its final number of the day, The Stars and Stripes Forever. Some pictures of the event:

The Band's 2013 Season Begins June 16, 2013!
The Hayward Municipal Band, under the direction of Kathy Morelli Maier, will begin its 57th concert season on Sunday, June 16th at 2:30 on the Tony Morelli Bandstand, 24176 Mission Blvd. (behind the Hayward Plunge).
Bring your family, friends, and a picnic lunch to relax, listen and enjoy Classical, Popular, Big Band, Jazz, Musicals, Latin and more! The FREE concerts are made possible by the
City of Hayward and the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. Parking is available.

2013 Season Announcement
If you have attended a Hayward Municipal Band concert in past years and signed up on our mailing list, you should have received this colorful postcard in the mail recently. Please attach it to your calendar or refrigerator and make plans to join the band for another season of wonderful, free outdoor concerts in Hayward's beautiful Memorial Park.
A look back at last season

Memorial Day 2013
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th, the Hayward Municipal Band participated in the annual program at Lone Tree Cemetery, 24591 Fairview Ave. in Hayward.
The band played a concert starting at 10:30, and participated in the formal program which began at 11:00.
Thank you to everyone who turned out to hear the band and to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.
